March Resolution Recap.

Ugh. This one will be a toughie. Resolutions be hanged, March was a fairly indulgent month. Not many gold stars today. I do have to say, though, that I like the recaps at the end of the month, gives the first day of the month the feel of January 1. New chance to start afresh and to put the previous month behind you. Just like ticking things off a list. March - Check. Well - here I go...

R#1 - Wear make up every day. -This may be my one and only gold star. I did it! Woohoo. Even when Grace was sick, I put on the makeup - if only for our beloved pediatrician.

R#2 - Contacts & Allergy Shots. Oops! Maybe I'll get two stars. Got the contacts and I wear them. Yay me. I had my allergy testing done and as it turns out, I've come a long way from 1987. I only reacted to a dust allergy. Oddly enough, I have a lot more tolerance for my doggie. The down side to this is - although I'm not allergic to much, and my severe congestion is not due to allergic reactions, that also means that I have to see the ENT. Ugh. Which generally results in some sort of nasal surgery. Yup - the polyps done came back. Apparently polyps are not something you can completely get rid of. They will come back. I'm just glad it took 10 years this past time. So - if you're looking for a good line of work with job security - become an ENT. Polyps will keep you in business - even in Michigan - because yes, I am seeing the same ENT I worked with back in the 90's.

I do believe this resolution can be laid to rest as I have completed both.

R#3 - $125.00 Grocery Budget each paycheck. Ooh...bad Amy. I went way over budget this month with the deals. The diaper deal in particular just killed my budget. However, I do believe that it was well worth it and since we paid a lot less in daycare when Grace was sick - while I didn't save any money, I wasn't out that much more.

Came in at a whopping 420.40 OOP, but I SAVED 837.94. So - I did double my money, which is generally my goal. If I don't factor the awesome diaper deal in, I'll come in at about 320.00, but I do factor it in and no gold star for me. Here's lookin' at April, kid. I am DETERMINED to be UNDER budget in April. That's right, UNDERBUDGET.

R#4 - Make all my meals at home & have a date night. We did have our date night. And used a coupon. I did get a little lazy though this month. Probably ate out about 4 or 5 meals this month. No gold star for me. I can however, and probably already knew this, see a direct correlation between doing things right and not being lazy with feeling well. Which, teaches me even more that it's important to take care of yourself. I couldn't take my Allegra D all this month in preparing for the allergy testing and consequently I felt like crap. And my defenses went down, I wasn't sleeping well and I lost a lot of my resolve. All because of a little ole pill. Guess those docs know what they're talking about.

R#5 - The No "S" Plan - Pass. No gold star, trust me.

On to April.
